How to Sell a Monster Truck

The roaring, the rumbling and the crunch as cars disappear underneath the wheels are all part of the fun of owning a monster truck. However, all good things come to an end. Even if it's just to buy a bigger and better one, every owner must sooner or later part with his toy. Here are steps that will help make the breakup a little easier.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Research the value of your truck so that you'll know how much to ask for it. You can do this online, or ask around at local dealerships.
Step2
Advertise the truck. There are many good places to advertise online such as eBay or AutoTrader.com. Place an ad in your local newspaper as well.
Step3
Generate word of mouth. Tell friends and colleagues, especially fellow monster truck enthusiasts, that you want to sell it. You can also talk to people at monster truck shows about your vehicle.
Step4
Ask for more than you expect to get. This leaves you room to bargain. The potential buyers will feel good about getting you to come down, but you'll still get as much money as you really wanted.
Step5
Make sure the potential buyer really has the money. If he needs to pay by check, don't turn over the truck until the check clears the bank.
Step6
Transfer the title into the buyer's name. You usually contact your state's department of motor vehicles to do this, but each state's procedures vary.
