How to Get Parts for a Microcar

Before you can start getting parts for your Microcar, you need to know the specifications or characteristics of the Microcar you want to build. Once you decide, you can begin shopping for parts that match your criteria. This does not have to be an expensive project. Choose a design that is pleasing to your eye and does all you want your Microcar to do.

1. Choose a donor vehicle from either a motorcycle or scooter.
2. Check your local listings for junkyards and car graveyards for the motorcycle or scooter you are looking for. It may take more than one telephone call.
3. Give the junk dealer a list of the parts you are looking for. You may have to do this at two or three junkyards before you find and are able to extract all the parts you need.
4. Lower your cost by offering to take the parts of junked motorcycles and scooters yourself.
5. Inventory your products to make sure you didn't miss anything.

• Shop around at junkyards; do not be too quick to agree on a price for a part. If you are willing to invest your time into researching what it is you want to build and which junkyards have high quality used parts, building your Microcar will be even more rewarding.
