Microcar rallies tend to be very informal affairs set up between several microcar clubs with the permission of a town or small city. Microcar rallies are held on paved roads with little or no off road driving. These rallies take place on narrow, country roads with lots of twists and turns; the challenge being to beat the other racers by skillful driving and handling. There is usually a microcar car show with prizes awarded for different classes as well as a trophy for the rally winner.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Access to microcar forums online
  • Access to local microcar clubs
  • Microcar
  • Registration forms and fees

Step1
Join a local microcar club. These clubs are usually the ones who set up the microcar rally. If they are not going to be part of the rally then someone in the club will know where one is being held.
Step2
Join several online microcar clubs. These are also very good sources of information concerning rallies. If there is nothing going on in your local area, you'll find listings for rally races held nationwide in these forums.
Step3
Fill out your registration paperwork and pay your registration fees. Preregister if you need to. Many microcar rallies do not have preregistration; they'll take your registration fee at the entrance gate. Events like this only require that you fill out the registration form either online or printed and mailed in.
Step4
Take your microcar to the rally. You'll need to find a way to get your microcar to the rally if it's not held locally. Trailers can be rented for this purpose, though you can always drive the car you plan on entering.
Step5
Pay your entry fee when you get to the gate if you did not or could not prepay. You'll also be given any pertinent information at this time, like parking locations, show times and when the rally is set to kick off.
Step6
Compete in the rally.

Tips & Warnings

  • Microcar rallies are more about getting together with likeminded people than anything else. The premise of the entire affair is to have fun.
