Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Define what club you want to belong to. There are literally thousands of car clubs all over the world. Think about the brands and models you are most passionate about. Narrow that list down to three, as belonging to more than three may get a bit time consuming (and costly, as some clubs charge money.)
Step2
Do your homework. Check out carclubs.com or motoraddicts.com for a complete database of clubs, contact, and dues information. Visit
car forums like SportsCarForums.com to find out which clubs other people recommend. Take the time to browse the websites and see which makes the most sense for you based on their location and what you receive for your money. There's no point in joining a car club if you can't enjoy it!
Step3
Contact the membership crew, either by phone, email or through their site. Request a new member form, inquire about dues and share your passion and love for the same kind of cars. While clubs usually don't discriminate against novice enthusiasts, sharing your passion will help cement your membership status when you are pledging to join.
Step4
Join up! Once you pay your cash you are in! Be sure to be active in the club. Go to the events, help provide content for their site, then after a while offer to take greater and greater responsibility within the club. Maybe even suggest an event that you can organize. Bob's Big Boy or other restaurants across America are happy to host a car event on a Saturday afternoon. It gives them business and you a place to meet!
