Step1
Research engineering firms to find out which companies need your technical skill set. Determine if you know anyone within those particular companies to network with, enabling you to get an engineering job with that company.
Step2
Ask friends and neighbors if they know any engineers that work within the companies that you are interested in working for, or if they have contacts within other companies that have engineering positions.
Step3
Join a local Society of Professional Engineers to network with other engineers in your field. Locate engineers within the society that work for the companies you are interested in. In addition, inquire with other engineers as to which companies would need your technical skill sets.

Contact a local chapter of your alumni association to network with previous graduates in the engineering field. Use the alumni association to find people that are employed by the companies you are interested in working for. In addition, network with alumni to see what other engineering companies they work for that you might also consider.
