How to Buy a Multimedia Projector for a Business

When purchasing a multimedia projector for a business, the choices may seem so tempting at first. But your budget, the frequency of use and types of presentation you make will narrow the choices. A small business or a salesman on the road may only need a portable model, while teaching institutions or large corporations may need a fixed installation model.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Consider your travel schedule. Laptop size portable multimedia projectors are excellent for businessmen who give presentations on the go, and home-based entrepreneurs who occasionally visit other people's offices on sales or marketing calls.
Step2
Look at the number of people attending your business meetings. Medium- sized projectors, commonly referred to as conference room projectors, are the best choice for most companies. They can be used for training or sales presentations and can be moved easily to different meeting rooms and offices within a building.
Step3
Think about higher resolution for larger meetings. The highest quality projectors are called fixed installation projectors and are permanently attached to the ceilings of large lecture or meeting halls. These projectors have the clearest resolution.
Step4
Watch the pictures that each projector produces. Multimedia projectors contain an LCD or DLP display. If you use bright colors in your presentation images, an LCD projector is the best choice. DLP projectors offer deeper black backgrounds.
Step5
Try out different lamp types. UHP, UHE and halide lamps are used in multimedia projectors. Take your budget and maintenance needs into consideration when choosing a lamp. They can be expensive to replace.
