Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  1. Step 1

Find out what the specifications are for the computer the projector will be used with. Necessary information includes the processor type, the processor speed, the amount of RAM installed, the graphics capabilities and what kind of ports are available (USB, Serial, SCSI) on the computer.

  2. Step 2

Decide what business or personal needs the project will need to fulfill. Make a list of what needs should be met by the projector before starting the search–this will limit your selections.

  3. Step 3

Start the search for the projector by researching online or visiting a computer and electronics store and speaking with one of the professionals. As with most technology, the more you pay, the more you get.

  4. Step 4

Consider only what you need. While you get more when you pay more, that doesn't mean you need to purchase the most expensive unit available.

  5. Step 5

Check the packaging and double-check with an in-store expert or on the companies website to be sure that the projector is going to work with your computer.

  6. Step 6

Purchase the multimedia projector. Be sure to take it out of the packaging and set it up for a test run to make sure that everything works. Follow all the directions sent with the device and call the customer support line for the product if you have any questions or concerns about the product.

Tips & Warnings
  • If there are two projectors that have the same basic statistics but one is more expensive, chances are the more expensive one is going to be the higher quality unit.
