Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Consider the size if you travel frequently. Slim, personal multimedia projectors weigh in at 5 pounds or less. They are suitable for businesspeople who make frequent road trips and need a projector that they can carry with ease, like a laptop computer.
Step2
Go for quality, expensive models for frequent use. Video projectors that will stay in house, or conference room projectors, sometimes contain many extras like video ports or a laser pointer. They are pricier, but well worth it for large or medium size companies or training departments that do a lot of presentations.
Step3
Contemplate fixed installation projectors. They are mounted in large conference rooms or lecture halls and weigh up to one hundred pounds. They provide the highest resolution and are perfect for large training classes or conventions.
Step4
Focus on the images. Multimedia projectors can have either an LCD or DLP display. LCDs offer brighter picture while DLPs focus on contrast and a deeper black background. If you tend to include the same type of image in presentation, you may want to use this information to decide which screen is best for you.
Step5
Look at lamp types. UHP, UHE and halide lamps are the common lamps used in multimedia or video projectors. Check the lamp life for each type of bulb, and choose according to your needs. Most bulbs last between 1,000 and 4,000 hours.
