How to Join Girl Scouts of America

The Girl Scouts of America is an organization for girls age 5 and older. The purpose of the organization is to teach responsibility and leadership as well as to have fun. Joining the Girl Scouts is an exciting adventure with different levels for girls, including Daisy Girl Scouts, Brownie Girl Scouts, Junior Girl Scouts and Girl Scouting through Studio 2B.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Girl Scouts of America's National Council website.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the "Join Us" link located on the bottom of the homepage.

  3. Step 3

    Choose the "Girl Membership" link to read all the ways a girl can be involved in Girl Scouts, including registering for Girl Scout updates by mail, going to Girl Scout camps and joining a local Girl Scout Troop in your area.

  4. Step 4

    Scroll to the bottom of the page to the "Join Now" section. Click on "Find a Council Online."

  5. Step 5

    Enter your zip code inside the yellow box located at the top of page.

  6. Step 6

    Click the "Find" button. This will provide you with the contact information for the Girl Scout Council office closest to your location.

  7. Step 7

    Use the local Council's contact information to call for further information on where and when the Girl Scout Troop in direct proximity to where you live will be meeting. You may also click on the website link for additional information on your local Girl Scout Council and an email for the contact person.

  8. Step 8

    Attend your local Girl Scout Troop's next meeting. Find the Girl Scout Troop leader and ask for the necessary paperwork to fill out to join.

  9. Step 9

    Fill out the paperwork and pay the nominal fee to join. Welcome to the Girl Scouts of America!
