Feng shui is an ancient Chinese method of arranging a room or space in order to achieve harmony and peace within the environment. Use feng shui when decorating a child's bedroom to help create a space worthy of enlightenment and harmony.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose a room at the front of the house. Feng shui teaches that room placement near the front of the house encourages the child's independence.

  2. Step 2

Clean the bedroom and remove all the things the child has outgrown. Some of these things include furniture, clothes or toys.

  3. Step 3

Place the head of the child's bed against and inside wall to give the child security. The center of the right wall is good for creativity and intellect. For good luck, place the bed in the power area of a room-the corner opposite the main door.

  4. Step 4

Choose a color for the bedroom. Green and blue are calming and cheerful colors. White is another good option; it symbolizes strength.

  5. Step 5

Hang awards and trophies in the "fame" area of the room. The "fame" area begins in middle and stretches to the back of the room.

  6. Step 6

Pull all electronics including televisions, video games and phones out of the child's room. This might be hardest part of the feng shui process. Keep the items in a closed cabinet if another space is not available.

  7. Step 7

Create storage places for all items in the room. Try not to store things under the bed. If your child has trouble sleeping in their own room, items under their bed could be the root of the problem.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not place your child's bed directly in front of a door. This position is very unlucky and symbolizes death.
