If you love nature and taking walks and if you are planning to visit Singapore, be sure to check out the Botanical Garden, especially the special orchid exhibit. Here are some tips to make the most out of your Botanical Garden trip in Singapore.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get a cab and have the driver take you to the Botanical Garden located near Orchard Road. Alternatively you may take the public bus or the MRT subway to get there. There is no charge for entrance into the Botanical Garden.

  2. Step 2

Plan to visit the garden either in the early morning hours or later in the evening when the weather is not as hot and humid.

  3. Step 3

Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes.

  4. Step 4

Pack some sun block and insect repellent. It's sunny most of the time in Singapore and if you need shade, wear a cap or carry a small umbrella with you.

  5. Step 5

Take along a stroller if you have younger children.

  6. Step 6

Pack some snacks and plenty of water. There is a nearby food court that sells drinks and delicious local foods at a reasonable price. The food court is also air conditioned, so it might be a good stop before you leave to cool off.

  7. Step 7

Bring your camera; there are lots of pictures to take.

  8. Step 8

Follow the trail and look at the various tropical plants in the Garden. There is also a lake that you can stop at. If you have some bread, you can feed the turtles in the lake. This is also a good place to stop for a picnic.

  9. Step 9

Plan on stopping at the Orchid exhibit where you can find spectacularly beautiful orchids of all varieties and from all around the world. It's worth the nominal entrance fee. Take pictures of all the beautiful orchids,;you won't want to miss it having come all the way here.

  10. Step 10

Stop at the souvenir shops before you leave the Botanical Garden. There are a lot of interesting things to look at. Some of the items may be pricey, but it's still worth the stop to browse.

  11. Step 11

Take your time and enjoy the garden. Get some exercise as well!
