Root beer floats are yummy. Here's the simple, easy way to make one.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Root beer
  • Vanilla ice cream
  • A tall glass
  • A spoon or straw
  1. Step 1

Scoop some vanilla ice cream into your glass. Use as much as you want!

  2. Step 2

Pour your root beer over the vanilla ice cream, filling the glass as much as you can without spilling.

  3. Step 3

Serve with a spoon or straw, or both!

Tips & Warnings
  • Putting the ice cream in first and pouring root beer over it creates more foam. For less foam, put the root beer in first.
  • Vanilla ice cream is the most popular, but any ice cream can be used.
  • Some people eat the ice cream with their spoon, then use their straw to drink the remaining root beer.
  • While A&W is known for their root beer floats, I find the best root beer floats are made with Barqs brand root beer, because Barqs has bite.
  • For those with a bit of lactose intolerance, watch out for milk in your ice cream. You can easily substitute this with ice cream that is made with skim milk.
