The Waverly Hills Sanatorium, located in Louisville, Kentucky, opened in 1910 as a tuberculosis hospital. The sanatorium housed a large number of the tuberculosis population located in the swampy Louisville area. Waverly Hills Sanatorium was closed in 1961, but reopened in 1962 as a facility for geriatric patients. Two main areas of the sanatorium are allegedly haunted, and the sanatorium has been featured on numerous television shows and movies because of the ghostly legends.

Step1
Find information about taking a tour or staying overnight at the Waverly Hills Sanatorium on the Waverly Hills Historical Society, Inc. website (see Resources below).
Step2
Call the Waverly Hills Historical Society at (502) 933-2142 Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to schedule a tour. The Waverly Hills Sanatorium is located at 4301 East Pages Lane in Louisville, Kentucky 40272.
Step3
Book a guided historical tour to experience and explore the Waverly Hills Sanatorium property with a knowledgeable guide from the historical society. This tour focuses on the historical aspects of the Waverly hospital, and does not mention details of the paranormal.

Take a paranormal guided tour to hear all of the legendary folklore surrounding the sanatorium. Get ready for the 10 minutes of ghost hunting on the fourth floor that takes place during this haunted tour.

Check out the famous Room 502. Although no one knows exactly what happened in the room and legendary stories are unable to be proven, the room has been the center of many ghost hunting expeditions and is a must for any Waverly Hills tour.
