Tour one of the most famous haunted American battlefields, located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Look for battlefield ghosts on this popular site run by the Gettysburg National Military Park.

Experience the Carter House in Franklin, Tennessee. The Carter House was built over a Civil War battlefield and ghostly reports of the dead and wounded have been a part of the area's history for years. The Carter House and Carnton Mansion (Confederate hospital) along with Carnton Plantation Cemetery are also open to tour.

Take a self-guided driving tour of the haunted Prairie Grove Battlefield in Arkansas. Call the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park at 479-846-2990 for more information or get a brochure at the Prairie Grove visitor center. This Civil War battlefield driving tour is open all year from 8 a.m. until one hour after dark.

Visit with the Civil war ghosts of Clarksville, Tennessee, by taking a tour of the Fort Donelson National Battlefield. The cemetery and The Surrender House both located on the battlefield are said to be haunted by the ghosts of soldiers as well.

Go to St. Louis, Missouri, to tour the haunted Jefferson Barracks established in 1826. The site was utilized during wars with the American Indians and housed famous Confederate President Jefferson Davis when he was a U.S. lieutenant.

Look for the famous ghost of Fort Pulaski in Savannah, Georgia, who reportedly interacted with several actors during the filming of the movie "Glory," starring Morgan Freeman. This Confederate stronghold played an important part in the war and is full of haunting history.

Search for the ghost of murdered "Aunt Jane" during your tour of Fort Washita in Durant, Oklahoma. This fort was abandoned to Civil War troops and is suspected to be haunted by past residents who lived in the fort after it burned to the ground and was rebuilt in 1870.
