It may be that you've had a paranormal encounter that you just can't explain, or maybe you just have a particular interest in the subject matter. Either way, you aren't alone. The Internet is filled with discussion groups regarding the paranormal that any interested party can join.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Valid email address
Step1
Hunt down a group relating to the paranormal topic you are most interested in. Dozens, if not hundreds, of groups dedicated to topics ranging from lost civilizations to automatic writing can be found at the Paranormal Forums index pages (see Resources below).
Step2
Consider creating an email account with a free provider to protect your identity and the security of your primary email address. You can use your new email address when you fill out forms to join paranormal discussion groups, decreasing the possibility of receiving spam in your normal account.
Step3
Complete the steps to join the paranormal discussion groups of your choice. The required steps will differ from site to site, but generally involve choosing a screen name or handle and password, and providing a valid email address to complete registration. All correspondence with the group and its moderators will pass through the email address you provide.
Step4
Read the forum's rules before you join. Many discussion groups place limits on the topics permitted for discussion and require users to flag posts that are off-topic. In some cases, your access to a discussion group may be revoked if you consistently post off-topic or if you display poor citizenship. Standards will be explained in the forum's rules and regulations pages.
Step5
Lurk before you participate. Observe how the participants interact with each other. Notice which subjects are discussed and get a sense of the protocol and etiquette observed by the group's participants.
Step6
Post your own forum threads, or reply to previous threads started by other users. Use the community's resources to develop your own understanding of the paranormal topic of discussion at hand, or to find opportunities to attempt to gather firsthand evidence of the phenomena itself.

Tips & Warnings

  • Join a local group if you can find one. Doing so will make it easier to organize excursions to hunt down paranormal activity, should you become interested in doing so.
