Make Mom's Homemade Apple Pie

This article will teach you how to make my mom's homemade apple pie.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Sticks of butter
  • 2 Cups of sugar
  • 2/3 Cup of orange juice
  • 5 or 6 Cups of thin sliced and peeled apples
  • Deep dish pie shell - unbaked
  • Regular size unbaked pie shell
  • Oven preheated to 350 degrees F
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Wooden spoon
  1. Step 1

Melt the two sticks of butter and mix with 5 or 6 cups of sliced apples. Mix in 2 cups of sugar and 2/3 cup of orange juice.

  2. Step 2

Pour mixture into unbaked deep dish pie shell. Cover with regular size unbaked pie shell. Pinch the edges of the pie shell together to seal the pie.

  3. Step 3

Cut slits into the top crust to allow the juices to bubble up when cooking. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 33 minutes or until golden brown.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't slice your apples to thinly or the apples will be complete mush when done cooking.
  • Do not cut more than 3 or 4 slits in the top of the pie or it will flow over to much.
