Everybody loves a New Year's Eve party! It's the hottest night of the year, the night when everybody puts on their dancing shoes and celebrates the upcoming year in style. The only thing better than going to a great New Year's Eve party is hosting one. You get to pick the theme, the food, the guest list and the karaoke music, so have fun with it.

Things You'll Need:

  • Karaoke machine
  • Various karaoke CDs or DVDs
  1. Step 1

Consider the guest list. Think about who you plan to invite and factor in their personal likes and dislikes. A group of teenagers probably wouldn't enjoy a night filled with golden oldies, while an older crowd may not be up for the top ten hip-hop artists of the year.

  2. Step 2

Make it a themed party. Planning a party around a theme is always a lot of fun, and could really help you choose karaoke music for your New Year's Eve party. You could have an 80s themed party, where everyone sings the music of the decade while wearing the fashions of the era. Or maybe a Las Vegas theme party, where everyone sings Elvis songs while playing poker. Or try some show tunes for a Broadway themed party. The possibilities are endless!

  3. Step 3

Stick with tried and true tunes. No matter what theme you pick, you should have at least one CD from each genre. A little country, a few oldies or a little rap will give everyone a chance to join in on the fun.

  4. Step 4

Consider buying a compilation set of CDs or DVDs so that you have a little bit of everything, especially if you're in a rush to choose karaoke music for your New Year's party.
