How to Knit a Pique Triangle Pattern
After getting the basics of knitting down, exploring the more intricate and detailed patterns can be fun and challenging. This nifty stitch creates a repeating inverted triangle pattern in your work and can be used for just about any application. Here's how to create the pique triangle pattern.

Begin by knitting 6, purl 1, then knit 5. This will create the first triangle peak.

Purl 4, knit 3, then knit 5. This continues the triangle. Since you are knitting in the opposite direction the knit stitches are identical to the purl stitches going the other way.

-
8
Continue with purl 3, knit 7, then purl 2.
-
9
Be sure to Knit 3, purl 5, then knit 4.

10
Finish with purl 5, knit 3, then purl 4. This creates two offset half triangles on either side of your base triangle. Now purl across and you are ready to repeat the pattern.

Tips & Warnings
Always check your gauge to make sure your work will be sized correctly. If the needles you are working with are creating a piece too big then switch to a smaller set of needles and vice versa.
