A personal crisis can happen to anyone. A crisis can be an accident, illness or another type of traumatic incident. Once the crisis is over, you may not know how to return back to normal. You need give yourself time to recover from a crisis.

Stay open with your family and friends. People who are recovering from a crisis have a tendency to shut people out. Loved ones are only trying to help and you should let them.
Step3
Be honest with everyone. If you are having a hard time dealing with the fallout from the crisis, don't pretend that you are fine.
Step4
Resume normal activities. Returning to work and honoring social obligations will help speed along your recovery.
Step5
Join a support group. Find people that have gone through a similar type of crisis and connect with them. They can help you handle the emotional baggage that comes along with going through that type of situation.
Step6
Keep your body healthy. If you eat a healthy diet and get enough rest, it will help in your recovery.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are religious, attending church services can often help a person get through the emotions following a crisis.
  • Avoid the media if the crisis is something that would have been broadcast. Constant exposure can delay your recovery.
