Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Choose a theme. Consider visiting pubs whose names all have something in common or perhaps pubs that serve real ale.
Step2
Set the date and time. It's a good idea to avoid Bank Holidays, match days for Manchester City or Manchester United and any other days when the pubs will be more crowded than usual. Pubs are usually less full during the day, so you may want to set an early start time if you're hoping to avoid the crowds.
Step3
Invite your friends. A good-sized group would be about 10 people.
Step4
Focus on a particular area. Manchester is a big place, so it can make things easier if you plan your pub crawl in a particular neighbourhood so you don't have to spend a lot of time travelling between pubs. Manchester city centre has over 500 licensed premises so that might be a good place to start your search.
Step5
Select the pubs. Search the internet for pubs in your chosen area that meet your criteria.
Step6
Draw a map. This will help you find your way from one pub to another on the night and can help any stragglers or latecomers to locate you anywhere along the route.
Step7
Do a dry run to check out all the pubs to see if they are accommodating to the kind of night you're planning. It's a good idea to talk to the staff at each venue to check that they'll be happy for a crowd of revellers to descend.
Step8
Plan what you'll do when the crawl is over.
Step9
Be prepared to make changes to your plans if necessary. You may also want to be flexible about what you drink, as it can liven up the night to try different drinks at different pubs.
