If you want your fresh flower bouquets to really stand out, you should learn how to arrange them. Flower arranging is a simple process that allows you to put together flowers in a complimentary way. Use these tips to begin arranging your own flowers.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose the size of your vase or container. Make sure it will adequately hold all the blooms of all the flowers you want to include in the arrangement without any excess space or overcrowding.

  2. Step 2

Arrange the flowers in different directions. If the flowers can be viewed from different angles, then the blooms should be turned to various directions.

  3. Step 3

Use filler flowers in your arrangements. These make bouquets appear fuller. Examples include ferns, baby's breath and statice.

  4. Step 4

Cut the flowers at various lengths. Place the longer stems in the center and surround them with the shorter stems.

  5. Step 5

Put smaller flowers together in a group. This prevents the smaller flowers from becoming lost in the arrangement.

  6. Step 6

Place stones or marbles in the vase for shorter stems. This can help if you don't have the right size vase or if you cut the stems too short.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to replace the water and give the flowers plant food to ensure that the flowers last.
  • Display your arranged flowers in a cool room to keep the flowers from wilting.
