Not everyone has perfectly flawless skin. In fact, most of the flawless skin we see is in the movies, and that is the work of an artist. For the rest of us who live in the real world with oily skin, there are ways to find products that can help us get closer to perfection.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Use an oil-based product for cleaning. It may seem weird to use an oil to clean off oil, but the oil based products help to dissolve the natural oils on your face and body without drying them out.

  2. Step 2

Buy natural soaps. Additional ingredients in some soaps are too irritating to the skin. You need to clean oily skin, not anger it.

  3. Step 3

Mask the oil with a mask. Clay and mud masks are an excellent way to extract some of the toxins from the skin without irritation. Use a mask only two to three times per week.

  4. Step 4

Protect oily skin from dryness with an oil-free moisturizer. Use a bit in the morning, and leave some on before you go to bed.

  5. Step 5

Apply before you apply. Before you apply make-up in the morning, try a light cream with ingredients such as benzyl peroxide. This will help reduce the amount of oil the skin produces during the day.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't over wash your face. Two to three times a day is the maximum. Too much washing and cleansing can make the oil production worse.
  • Don't forget your diet. Drinking lots of water, eating lots of fruits and vegetables, and exercising will help keep your blood flowing and your skin from being too oily.
  • Don't go for the drying effect. If a product makes your skin too dry, or uncomfortable, you aren't doing your skin any favors. When your skin is too dry, it can cause breakouts and flaky skin.
