- Edible flowers
- Small paintbrush
- Egg white
- Granulated sugar
- Parchment paper
- Baking sheet

Obtain any species of edible flower. Violets, small roses, Peruvian lilies and pansies are a common few.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Ensure that the paper is completely dry.

Beat 1 egg white in a bowl until a very light foam develops.

Use a small, clean paintbrush to evenly and lightly cover each flower with egg white.

Coat each flower with a sprinkling of sugar. Allow sugar to be absorbed and sprinkle each flower again.

Place each candied flower on the parchment paper and allow to dry at room temperature for at least 24 hours.

Candied flowers can be kept between layers of waxed paper for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
