Once you hit the senior years, you may be nervous about dating again. If you're recently widowed or divorced, you may not have not been on a date in a long time. However, dating during the senior years does not have to fill you with dread.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide on how you want to meet potential mates. Many online sites offer dating services that exclusively cater to seniors. Senior Date Finder is an excellent way to meet single seniors in your area.

  2. Step 2

Read personal ads carefully. Read between the lines to figure out what a potential date is looking for. Many seniors will be forthcoming and state whether or not they are only looking for a sexual relationship.

  3. Step 3

Speak on the phone several times before meeting. This will give you time to get to know each other and see if you have things in common. If you have connected over the Internet, be honest about your age and past romantic history.

  4. Step 4

Make first dates casual. You can plan a group date or meet for lunch. You don't want to feel any pressure by having a formal dinner date.

  5. Step 5

Keep things open until you feel that you are ready to take things to the next level. When you decide you are ready to have sex, use protection. If it has been awhile since you last had sex, don't be surprised to feel some discomfort. An over the counter lubricant, such as KY Jelly, can often help.

Tips & Warnings
  • You should always meet in a public place for a first date. You must be cautious while getting to know someone.
  • Don't be afraid to talk about any type of sexual dysfunction. Using a medication or cream to achieve arousal is very common among seniors.
