Use colors and textures to incorporate nature into your wedding program design. Real or drawn elements from plants, flowers or trees can be a particularly unique touch. Consider adding images of butterflies, birds and other creatures to your design. Tie all the elements together by using a shared geographic setting such as the beach, mountains, a garden, or the country.

Choose programs that can be unfolded, folded or scrolled with single or multiple sheets. Generally, the heavier cardstock paper is ideal for unfolded and folded single-sheet programs or as covers for multiple-sheet programs. Vellum paper works nicely in single sheet scrolls or as inner sheets sandwiched by cardstock paper. Ribbon, tassels, fancy scissors and other decorative detail can add a special touch to the programs. There is no "right" way to design a wedding program, so be creative.

Type the text of your wedding program and be sure to include: Cover (optional). This can be the place for the names and pictures of the bride and groom. Date, time and location of the ceremony work well here. The cover is also the opportunity to showcase your nature theme and decorative craftsmanship. Order of the Ceremony: Outline the wedding from beginning to end including music, readings and significant activities. Members of the Wedding Party: This list includes maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, and the person officiating the wedding. You may also choose to acknowledge musicians, readers or other individuals contributing to the ceremony. Other (optional): You may also want to add a special poem or prayer, "thank you" message, remembrance or explanation of a particular wedding event.

Enlist friends and family to help you print, fold and decorate the wedding programs. Depending on the size of your wedding, you may need many hands to quickly perform this task.

5
Place finished programs in a decorative basket for later distribution to your wedding guests. Be sure to save one for yourself.
