Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Include a guest book or a means of someone to contact you on your website. If someone takes the time to comment, always respond in a timely and polite fashion. This will encourage people, especially if the comment was positive, to follow your work.
Step2
Make a point to consider the criticism if someone leaves constructive criticism on your website or in an email. Thank the person who gave the criticism, even if you decide to use it or not.
Step3
Create a signature, which includes your website and a brief description of your product or blog, that will appear on all of your emails. Do this for all emails, whether original messages, replies or forwards. Try to limit the signature to three or four lines, thus ensuring it will be read.
Step4
Join numerous discussion groups on the web and post often. In this manner, your signature will be included in your posts.
Step5
Whenever you visit a site and are given the opportunity to leave a comment in a guest book, do so. Make certain to include your signature. The comment can include constructive criticism.
Step6
Submit articles to publications or online sites and make certain to include your website address. Also advertise the article and give a URL so that your article might be read by others.
Step7
Ask for permission to link to other websites and to have others link their websites to yours. This is called reciprocal linking, and it can be a benefit to both parties.
