Once people you know find out about your decision to become a vegetarian, you may be ridiculed or asked silly questions like, "How do you get enough protein?" Arm yourself with some basic facts and figures and you will have no problem explaining your decision to become a vegetarian.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Explain that eliminating meat from your diet is a very easy way to avoid excess fat and cholesterol. A vegetarian diet is naturally low-fat and high-fiber-just the diet our doctors keep telling us to adopt.

  2. Step 2

Express your concern that rain forests are regularly cleared in order to make room for grazing animals. By choosing to become a vegetarian, you have taken a stand against the needless destruction of a vital natural resource.

  3. Step 3

Talk about how a vegetarian diet containing eggs, nuts, beans and dairy products provides more than enough protein. In fact, the protein quality of any food is measured against the protein found in an egg, long considered the ideal source of protein.

  4. Step 4

Show that you support the health and well-being of all animals, not just pets, by adopting a vegetarian lifestyle. Tell people that you can not support an industry that routinely mistreats and slaughters animals.

  5. Step 5

Declare that you wish to live a long and healthy life. Scientific studies continue to show that vegetarians all around the world live longer lives.

  6. Step 6

Invite your friends and family over for dinner and whip up a delicious vegetarian meal that will not only have them licking their lips, but have them wondering if they should become vegetarians too.
