Respect your volunteers time, nothing turns off volunteers faster than having nothing to do. Plan each and every day activities that will not only help your candidate but also fulfill your volunteer's need to be a useful. Post a big sign above the door thanking the volunteer, make sure that their presence was noticed and much appreciated. -
