How to Get Information About the Republican Party

The Republican Party is often called the Grand Old Party or GOP; but do you know why? Many Republicans cannot name their elected officials on a local or national level. A lot of being involved in politics is being informed. There are different ways that you can get information about the Republican Party that will help you be a well informed party member. Read on to learn more.

  1. Step 1

    Visit GOP.com. This is a great starting place to learn more information on the Republican Party and find ways to get involved.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the "About the GOP" link at the top of the page. This will give you information on the national party leadership and also supplies a map you can click on to get information on local leadership.

  3. Step 3

    Scroll down to the bottom of the "About the GOP" page and there are several links to tell you different things about the party. You can learn about the history of the party, the origin of the GOP name, rules of the party, party platforms, why the Republican Party uses an elephant as a symbol and more.

  4. Step 4

    Subscribe to the Rising Tide, the Republican National Committee quarterly magazine. You can receive a subscription by donating $25 or more on the donate page of GOP.com.

  5. Step 5

    Go to the "Links" section from the "About the GOP" page. This will point you to links of other Republican groups like the Council of Republicans for Environment Advocacy and the Republican Jewish Coalition.

  6. Step 6

    Get involved locally. Politics is supposed to be a grassroots entity first, so being involved in your community can give you good information on what the Republican Party is and where it is going.
