How to Contact a Local Democratic Party Group

There are many groups across the country that share the same political ideas that you have. The range is broad. Some groups form for an individual candidate, a local party branch or dialog with those holding specific agendas. Finding a group is only a few mouse clicks away. The process is smooth. Read on to learn more.

Instructions

    Starting to Find Groups

  1. Step 1

    Go to The Democratic Party national website.

  2. Step 2

    Look at the upper tool bar and click the "Local" button with your mouse.

  3. Step 3

    Find your state on the map then click the area with your mouse.

  4. Step 4

    Scroll down the page containing your state's latest news and election results. See the blue box on the right hand side. Chose a selection listed under "party builder" or under "in your state."

  5. Finding Groups in Your State

  6. Step 1

    Point your mouse over the find groups. Depending on the state you live in the name of the state is attached to the line. Using Michigan, the line reads "Find Groups in Michigan." Click the line and automatically you are directed to the party builder webpage.

  7. Step 2

    Scroll to the box that searches by keyword and zip code for your area.

  8. Step 3

    Enter either your mailing zip code or a city in your county then click the search button with your mouse. Other states might have the same city name. It is best to use a local zip code for your immediate area.

  9. Step 4

    Scroll down the page and your search results are listed.

  10. Step 5

    Find a group that you are interested in and click the underlined red name.

  11. Step 6

    Look at the top of the page to join the group of choice.

  12. Step 7

    Move your mouse over the join group button.

  13. Step 8

    Sign up for a new account. You must enter first and last name, zip code, email and create a password. Remember to write down your password for future access.

  14. Step 9

    Click the "Signup" button to join.

  15. Contacting Groups

  16. Step 1

    Repeat the four steps in section one.

  17. Step 2

    Choose either your state's website or contact state party button. Point your mouse over your choice and click.

  18. Step 3

    See the blue tool bar with "Contact us."

  19. Step 4

    Click the contact button with your mouse.

  20. Step 5

    Phone the Democratic Party's state headquarters or fill out the form, adding your comments or questions. If you use the online form, click the submit button at the bottom.
