How to Support the Green Party

You appreciate all that the Green Party stands for: grassroots democracy, social justice, non-violence and environmentalism. You support them with your vote when you go to the polls on election day, but you can do more to support the Green Party. You can join the Green Wave. Read on to learn how to support the Green Party.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Visit the Green Party website to find the nearest group of Greens. You can also fill out a volunteer form and ask local Greens to contact you.

  2. Step 2

    Make a donation to the party while you are on the website. The Green Party only accepts donations from individuals like you.

  3. Step 3

    Register as a card-carrying Green. For a small annual membership fee you can show your support for the Green Party. You will receive a bumper sticker, a Green Party button and a subscription to Green Pages, the party's official newspaper.

  4. Step 4

    Find out what events your local Greens are sponsoring and volunteer to help out.

  5. Step 5

    Write letters to your newspaper, family and friends and let them know you support the Green Party. Encourage those who read your letters to consider voting Green.

  6. Step 6

    Organize a voter registration campaign and let new voters know about the Green Party and encourage them to register Green.

  7. Step 7

    Walk to your voting precinct and hand out campaign literature or Green Party informational brochures.

  8. Step 8

    Make phone calls near election days to help get Green voters to the polls.

  9. Step 9

    Recruit more people to join the Green Wave. Also, recruit people who would make good Green Party candidates.

  • If you're a good writer, volunteer to write for the local party newsletter or to submit press releases and news stories to the local paper.
