Step 1
Expect your breasts to go through size changes. You should not anticipate to wear a maternity bra in your pre-pregnancy bra size. Most women are at least a full cup size larger.
-
Step 2
Measure your breast size to find a bra that will fit right. Use a measuring tape to determine your band size by measuring under your arms. Your cup size will be determined by measuring from your back to the fullest part of your breasts.
-
Step 3
Look for a four-station back enclosure on the bra. This will ensure that the bra feels comfortable and will not become undone easily.
-
Step 4
Wear a maternity bra with comfortable straps. Straps should be wide and be cushioned well in order to not dig into your shoulders.
-
Step 5
Select a bra that you can nurse in as well. Most maternity bras have snaps that unhook that allow you to feed your baby without unhooking the bra.
-
Step 6
Keep the maternity bra on often. You will need the support during the duration of your pregnancy and if you choose to breastfeed.
