One of the most fun parts of wedding planning is creating your wedding registry. You get to choose all of your favorite items that will make your new house a home. Creating a wedding registry is easy to do and can be a lot of fun for both you and your significant other. Here are a few helpful tips to create your perfect wedding registry.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide on the style of your home before selecting items. Is your home going to be contemporary, rustic, shabby chic or elegant? You want the items you choose to work well together.

  2. Step 2

Assess your needs. Decide which items you will need for each room to make your home complete.

  3. Step 3

Register at your favorite stores. They will provide you with a registry checklist of items. You will either be given a scanner to select your items or a personal assistant will help you with your registry.

  4. Step 4

Sign up for online access if you wish to monitor and update your registry online. Your guests will also be able to shop online.

  5. Step 5

Keep your wedding registry updated to avoid duplicate gifts. After each shower, check your registry to ensure that the items you have received are deleted.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to include items of different prices. You want your guests to have a choice of how much they choose to spend on the gift.
  • Select only the things you need and will use from the checklist. The stores put several items on the list to encourage you to buy more. Be a smart shopper.
  • Ask for registry slips or note cards to put in your invitations so people will know where you have registered.
