From Quick Guide: Giving Thanks with a Note
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase or make thank you notes. You can purchase them at party superstores or make your very own. To make your own, just fold a piece of stationery paper in half. Simply write on the blank inside. Decorate with stamped images or stickers.

  2. Step 2

Thank your family or friends for their gift to you. Tell them how you are enjoying their present or how you will use it. State how you plan on using gift cards. People want to know that their present is liked and being used.

  3. Step 3

Write enough in the card to show that you put time into writing your thank you note. Consider the time they spent choosing the perfect gift for you.

  4. Step 4

Address all your envelopes in your own handwriting. Handwritten notes provide that extra personal touch.

  5. Step 5

Stuff the envelopes with your thank you notes, stamp them and put them in the mail. Your friends will be excited to get your note in the mail. But don't wait too long to send them.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make your thank you notes within two to three weeks after receiving your gift. Write them before you allow yourself to enjoy your birthday gifts.
  • Handwrite your thank you notes as well as your envelopes. Printed labels do not look personal.
  • Don't send thank you notes by email or text messaging. Thank you notes should be a personal expression of gratitude.
