The birth of a new child is the transition from one journey--pregnancy--to another--child rearing. Both journeys are full of memories that parents would love to share with their children as they grow. A pregnancy memory journal is an optimal way to collect and record your pregnancy memories. Read on to learn how to create a pregnancy memory journal.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Scissors
  • Pregnancy Mementos
  • Decorative Multi-Colored Pens
  • Adhesive
  • Blank, Bound Book or Notebook
  • Baby Themed Scrapbook stickers, Die-Cuts and Patterned Paper

Step1
Cut out baby-themed items from scrapbook paper.
Step2
Adhere the embellishments such as paper cut-outs, stickers or die cuts to the outside covers of the notebook. For added personality, randomly place pregnancy and baby themed embellishments throughout the notebook. Pregnancy and baby themed embellishments are available at any scrapbook or hobby store.
Step3
Write in the journal beginning with how, where and when the parents learned of the pregnancy. Write the journal entries in letter format addressing the entries to the unborn child. Tell the child about each day of the pregnancy waiting for his or her arrival. Date each journal entry.
Step4
Add additional memories such as baby showers and current events. Record who was involved, the date, name of the event and where the event took place. Record reactions to and involvement in current events such as natural disasters or box office movie hits. Also, include advice and family history in the memory journal.
Step5
Finish the pregnancy memory journal with a description of the delivery and the hospital stay. Encourage visitors and family members to write a message to the baby.
Step6
Not a crafty person? Consider creating an electronic pregnancy memory journal with unique journaling software offered on the Life's Little Journals website.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to write in the journal at least once a week so memories are not forgotten.
  • Continue making journals dedicated to the child as he or she grows through different stages of life from infancy and toddlerhood to pre-teen and young adult.
