Step 1
Start by visiting Chase House, Berkshire School's oldest building that was originally a farmhouse built in the 1700s. The Admissions Office is housed there.
-
Step 2
Step into Berkshire Hall, the building where most classes are held.
-
Step 3
Check out the Buck Dormitory named after Seaver Buck, the founder of the Berkshire School. The dormitories all have courtyards and house students as well as faculty members and their families. Internet access is available in dorm rooms.
-
Step 4
Spend some time in the Rovensky Student Center, where the students eat, get their mail and shop at the school store. Buy a green and gray sweatshirt and a bear mascot.
-
Step 5
Stop by the Ritt Kellogg Mountain Program which actually teaches boat-building. Each student in the program builds their own kayak or canoe. The Berkshire School requires an athletic course to be taken by every student each semester.
-
Step 6
Immerse yourself in art produced by both students and faculty at the Berkshire Hall Gallery. Stop by the Dixon Observatory to observe the planets. Browse the Geier Library featuring more than 37,000 books and a video library, along with plenty of room for some serious studying.
