1. Be prepared to drive a distance. Before you do, decide how far is too far. Depending on what state you live in, you could easily drive one or two hours to a paintball tournament.

2. Compile a list of local fields in your driving radius. Do this by checking the Internet and utilizing the paintball resource websites. Also consult paintball magazines and the phone book.

3. Contact each field and ask about their upcoming tournaments.

4. Making friends is also very important in paintball. Befriend local teams and ask them where and when they play.

5. Use paintball resource websites like the PB Nation and War Pig websites to find events.

Tips & Warnings

• Only a few of the events in your area will ever be listed in a magazine and those are usually only the larger events. Do not be discouraged if you cannot find anything in you area in a magazine.

• Decide what you are looking for before you go. If you are wanting to play just for fun, do not go to a tournament with large prizes. Bigger prizes bring more blood-thirsty players.
