Visit an auto website to view a listing of recalls. Companies like Motor Trend keep a current listing of auto recalls.

Check with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This organization investigates and reports any possible defects in vehicles.

Call the manufacturer of your vehicle or visit their website. The customer service department can let you know of any possible recalls affecting your vehicle.

Take the vehicle to a dealer's service department. If you suspect that your car may have a recall, the service department can check your vehicle identification number against their records. Some recalls may only affect a small number of cars in a particular model.
