Step 1
Research the different magazines' "page calls" which are requests for the types of pages the magazine would like to feature in future publications. You can find this information on the magazine's website and on scrapbooking posting boards. The main scrapbook magazines are "Creating Keepsakes," "Memory Makers Magazine," "Simple Scrapbook," "Scrapbook Trends" and "Better Homes and Garden's Scrapbook."
-
Step 2
Choose a page to submit based on an appropriate page call. If "Creating Keepsakes" is looking for scrapbook pages about graduation, choose or make a page that features your best work. For the most part, it must include a photo, title and journaling. Having a unique technique or exceptional photo is helpful as well.
-
Step 3
Assemble a list of the supplies you used to create the page. This should include the brand name of the papers, embellishments, fonts and accessories you used for the project. Get in the habit of collecting this information as you create pages. You can keep this information on a spreadsheet or jotted on the back of the scrapbook page.
-
Step 4
Make a copy of your scrapbook page with either a color copier or a digital scanner. You can take a photo of the page, scan it or color copy it, reducing it in size. Most magazines request a specific format for page submissions. Be sure to follow all instructions.
-
Step 5
Include your contact information including your name, address, phone number and email address.
-
Step 6
Submit the page using the method the magazine has requested such as email or regular mail. Send a good copy of the page, the supply list, your contact information and any special techniques you used for the project. Mention the page call in the title of the email or on the mailed submission.
-
Step 7
Wait for the call by continuing to create pages for yourself and submitting more pages.
