Everyone wants their blog to be noticed. Getting regular readers for a blog often comes down to choosing the right keywords to bring in readers. Using the proper keywords will raise traffic counts by bringing more readers in through search engines.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Come up with keywords that are already used often in the blog. Using keywords that aren't in the blog will actually have a negative impact on your traffic. Pick words that describe your content. This will bring in readers who will be interested in the content. Make a list of several descriptive keywords.

  2. Step 2

Use a keyword tool online. Put your chosen keywords in to see which ones are searched most often. Use words in combination with each other and separately.

  3. Step 3

Discard any keywords that are not high ranking with search engines. Rewrite your keyword list with variations that are better ranked.

  4. Step 4

Add content that uses the higher-ranking keywords. Update your blog regularly with your researched keywords in each entry.

  5. Step 5

Keep searching your keywords using the keyword search tools. Add keywords when content or search ranks change.

Tips & Warnings
  • Decide on the keywords before beginning a blog to get the most out of the keyword search traffic. Use the keywords to come up with the content instead of the other way around.
  • It is not advised trying to use unrelated words to bring in traffic that have no correlation with your blog. Search engines will recognize this trick and may penalize your blog because of it.
