What's the most crazy dream you ever had? What dreams have you told your friends about? We all have them, and some of them don't make any sense. Or do they? A dream is the mind's way of processing everything that is happening in your life. Being able to interpret these dreams can give powerful insight into the subconscious mind. A dream dictionary is one way to do that.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Choose a dream dictionary. There are several available online. Printed dream dictionaries can be bought on eBay or Amazon.
Step2
Write down every part of your dream immediate after waking up.
Step3
Look up each item individually in the dictionary. For example, if you had a dream that you were racing to save things from your house in a fire, look up "house," "fire," and a list of each thing you tried to rescue. If you felt heat and were choking on smoke, record that as well.
Step4
Write down the definitions for each component of the dream.
Step5
Look at everything together. What can you learn about your emotions? How does it relate to what is happening in your life?
Step6
Keep a consistent journal. Try to find patterns in your dreams.

Tips & Warnings

  • Write down every aspect of a dream, no matter how trivial it may seem. Include emotions, colors, sounds and smells.
  • Dream dictionaries vary and are used as a guide. Every person will be different and some definitions may not apply directly to you.
