Andrew Carnegie wrote, "The great successes of life are made by concentration." He was talking about a successful career, but concentration and purpose bring success in any aspect of life. You must reflect on what you want and how you're going to get it to have a successful life.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set goals you can achieve. Maxwell Maltz wrote a short book that's brought success to many people called "Psycho-Cybernetics." He said the human mind needs goals to perform effectively. Human beings are meant to achieve.

  2. Step 2

Be open to opportunities. A story in the paper about an event or person may lead you to an important job, experience or contact. Keep an open mind about what others tell you. You never know what may inspire you to try a new direction that will bring you the success you're looking for.

  3. Step 3

Help others whenever you can. Donate and volunteer with local charities and always be ready to help your family, friends and neighbors. By giving, you bring positivity into your life. It helps you through tough times.

  4. Step 4

Learn from your failures and mistakes. They're a chance to examine where you strayed from your path to success. Believe that no failure can bring you down unless you let it. When negative thoughts threaten to discourage you from achieving your goals, stop whatever you're doing, take some deep breaths and think positive thoughts.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take care of mind, body and soul. A healthy lifestyle is part of a successful life.
  • Avoid substances like tobacco, alcohol and drugs. They numb your mind and prevent you from concentrating on your goals.
  • Never stop learning. Success in life comes from constantly expanding your comfort zone.
