Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Determine that your cell phone comes equipped with a camera. It sounds obvious, but some basic cell phone models don't come with cameras, and it's really disappointing to click away at the Loch Ness monster all day and have no pictures to show for it.
Step2
Flip through your camera phone's instruction manual to find the section that discusses taking photos. If you don't have the instruction manual, you can print one from the Internet. Enter your cell phone's brand and model number, along with the word "manual," into a search engine.
Step3
Shuffle through the menu buttons on your cell phone until reaching the option that says, "Camera." Click that option. Then click on the "Taking pictures" option, if available.
Step4
Point the camera lens, which is on the back of the cell phone (or the outside of a folding phone), toward your subject. You should see your subject framed in your cell phone's screen, which acts as a viewfinder.
Step5
Extend your arm, steady your hand, focus the subject, and hit the center button (sometimes called the "OK" or "Menu" button) in the middle of the arrow keys of the phone. The phone should make a clicking sound like a camera, and the picture should appear on your screen.
Step6
Select the option to save or delete the picture you have taken.
