Step 1
Know the law. Depending on your state, it may be illegal for someone to deny you employment based on a failed drug test. Before you take a drug test, make sure it is even legal. If you did fail a drug test, be sure to check the law as you may be subject to a follow-up test to confirm the results. Denying the request for the test or applying for a second one can be your biggest asset in passing a drug test.

Step 2
Delay the test. Alcohol will stay in your system no longer than 36 hours, while marijuana can appear up to 90 days, depending on your frequency of use. If you have indulged in illegal substances, try to postpone the test as long as possible. Call in sick, take a vacation or have a sudden family emergency which will occupy your time for as long as possible.

Step 3
Drink plenty of water. The more water you drink the more diluted your urine will become. If the testing company catches on to your "drink more water than a camel" scheme, the worst they will do is come back for another sample. But, by then, more time will have elapsed. Vitamin B drinks, which are heavily water-based, may also help dilute your urine as well. These can be found at your local GNC or health food store.

Step 4
Eat poppy seed bagels. If you have been doing opiates (heroin) the poppy seeds in the bagels may throw off the test. Opium is made from poppy plants as are poppy seeds. So if the big drug test is coming up and you need to pass, eat as many poppy seed bagels and rolls as possible. You may have to take the test again because of a false positive, but at least it will buy you more time and be able to blame the weird results on bagels.

Step 5
Take other meds. Over the counter medication, or other things your doctor may have prescribed you, may create a false positive. Tylenol, Nyquil or Sudafed may cause a false positive. If you explain that you had a cold or the flu they may not question the false-positive from your drug test. Again, worst case scenario is you buy yourself time and take it again.

Step 6
Down cranberry juice. If you've done a lot of cocaine and you need it out of your system pronto, then a great remedy is to drink cranberry juice. Lots of it. And not diluted cocktails, but real bitter, unmixed, 100 percent cranberry juice. The antioxidants and large doses of vitamins will mask the cocaine in about a day's time.

Step 7
Use another sample. This is gross, but you can try to use someone else's urine. Get someone to urinate in a zipping plastic bag for you. Then place it in your shoe (as you'll probably have to empty your pockets) then poke a small hole in the bag with a pen and empty it into the test cup. Beware that some tests need proper body heat. Again keeping it close to the body, as in stored in your buttocks, will help keep the correct temperature.

If I used for the past three days, do you have any idea how long that would take? Also, do the remedies above also work for heroin or is it just cocaine and marijuana? Finally, I heard that poppy seeds show up the same way as heroin, wouldnt that fail you for a drug test as well then?

Need to think about the fact that DENYING EMPLOYMENT FOR DRUG USE OF ANY KIND IS WRONG, now if you find out about the drug use and conclude that this person is Drug Dependant, then thats a different story, But saying we cant beat the system or dont try, is stupid cause the SYSTEM IS WRONG, so what else can we do but try to beat it, because we are right but they wont listen to us, Its just one of the many ways for the powers that be to control the landscape and direction of who gets what jobs, when those people that may partake in a few illegal substances from time to time maybe the very people that needs the job the most, instead of forcing those types of people to do hard labor jobs or illegal immigrant work, or become entertainers because those industries dont care as long as you wor
