How to Hide a Hangover

Hide a Hangover

So you've gone out, had an absolutely legendary time, kicked back a few too many drinks and now find yourself severely hungover. Well, first it should be pointed out that you must practice safe drinking practices. (Do not drink and drive.) But assuming you've done that and now have to hide your wretched feeling from your boss, here are a few tips!

Instructions

    • 1

Drink water. Lots of it. Don't reach for coffee, it's a diuretic and will only cause your body to continuously lose more water, which will make that pounding head feel even worse. Instead reach for water and juices. If possible even suck down a few multi-vitamins (an appropriate dose) to help replenish your body's nutrients.

    • 2

Eat something. This may be hard to do if you are suffering from nausea. But even if you can get some plain toast or crackers down the hatch, it will go a long way to help settle your stomach and soak up the remaining alcohol in your stomach.

    • 3

Go to the gym. This is probably the last thing you are thinking about when you are trying to hide a hangover from your boss. But, as you probably know, alcohol will sweat out of your body. So during the day after an intense bender, your body will be doing anything and everything to get rid of the alcohol. As it starts to release from your pores, you will smell like alcohol! While physically working out isn't a good idea, take an ice cold bottle of water, and go sit in the steam room or sauna. Sweat out as much alcohol as you can (remember 15 to 20 minutes is the MAXIMUM one is allowed to spend, and even that period is a considerable amount of time.) Hopefully this will help expel some of the alcohol from your system.

    • 4

Brush your teeth. A lot. Like at least three times during the day. The stench of alcohol will continuously come up from your gut and be on your breath. Chew gum, mints, and brush at the least three times that day. Follow the brushing up with mouthwash if you can stand the alcohol taste.

    • 5

Wear cologne. Not a gallon of it. Don't show up in front of your boss smelling like Grandma just gave you the Old Spice set for Christmas. Just put a little dab around your neck and on your wrists. That way if someone comes near you hopefully they'll smell Calvin Klein and not Jim Beam.

    • 6

Take a nap. The worst part of the hangover is trying to focus and concentrate. Colors are bright, noises are loud, and the ache in your head simply will not go away. If you're trying to hide the hangover from your boss, cancel your lunch and take a nap. Even if you're out on the road, and you've got to pull over for an hour. A lot of times that mid-day catnap will help you spring back to life.

Tips & Warnings

  • Replace potassium. Your body loses potassium and salts when you drink heavily. Have a banana and drink some Gatorade to replace what your body needs!
