How to Crack an Egg One-Handed

Get an egg out of the fridge and have a bowl ready to deposit the egg, after it is cracked.

Grab the egg firmly with hand. Make sure you have washed your hands and that they are clean of germs. With one swift motion, crack the egg on the counter top, cutting board or the edge of a sturdy bowl.

Hold the egg over the bowl. With your thumb and middle finger, apply gentle pressure to both sides of the egg.

Move your thumb and middle finger in opposite directions to separate the shell halves.

Discard the shell.

Practice this motion every time you crack an egg. You will probably have to try this several times before you get it right. Practice makes perfect, and before long you will be cracking eggs one-handed like a pro.
