Used by schools of pharmacy, the Pharmacy College Admission Test PCAT is a standardized method for identifying qualified applicants before commencement of the pharmaceutical curriculum. Its design and content are determined by deans, faculty and administrators to ensure that the test can predict success in the types of courses offered by pharmacy education. It consists of 240 multiple choice questions and two essay topics. Applicants are given 4 hours to complete the test in addition to time for instructions and a short break about half way through the test. Dressing in a manner that will allow you to perform optimally is one of the strategies you should pursue.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Search your PCAT study guide for recommended dress information. When you take PCAT practice tests online, investigate the websites. Useful advice about how to dress might be provided there.
Step2
Contact the test center ahead of the test and ask them how to dress. Word your question in a way that makes it clear you are not asking about dress code.
Step3
Consult the local weather station ahead of time to find out what weather conditions are forecast for the day of the test date.
Step4
Wear comfortable layered clothing that can be put on and taken off as the temperature dictates. Your choice of clothing should permit comfort and flexibility.

Tips & Warnings

  • Cotton is the friendliest fiber for the skin.
  • Do not assume that the heating or air conditioning will be adjustable by the staff.
  • Avoid clothing made with synthetic materials or wool if your skin is sensitive.
