One of the best ways to learn a combat style Sambo technique is to watch how championship ground fighting Sambo wrestlers do it. The combat Sambo technique lacks in the chokehold area, and is mainly used for ground fighting and leg submission holds. A key thing to remember when searching for a Sambo event is that this sport is also known as Sombo.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check out the Official U.S. Sombo Association website. It is a non-profit organization that has associations with USA Wrestling, which is a representative for the U.S. Olympic Committee. It is also affiliated with FILA, which is an International Federation for wrestling. This website lists where championship ground fighting events take place for public view.

  2. Step 2

Visit a Sambo Summer Camp and ask a counselor if they will allow you to watch one of their Sambo ground fighting training sessions. This way you can get a firsthand look at all levels of Sambo fighting.

  3. Step 3

Go to a personal training studio and watch how trained professionals battle it out with each other in an effort to train others. In a secluded environment like this, you may also get a chance to schedule an one on one appointment to ask any questions about Sambo fighting you may have.

  4. Step 4

Listen online to Sambocast Radio which is located on the American Sambo Association website. It will provide information on upcoming events and seminars available for the casual fan or the avid Sambo wrestling participant.

  5. Step 5

Look for a Sambo club online and ask a group member or participant where and when their next competition is so that you can get a chance to view how it's done.

  6. Step 6

Watch a Sambo wrestling video online with a video uploading service such as YouTube or Search My Video to get a first hand look at this championship wrestling style without leaving your home.
