Although Hapkido is an ancient Korean martial art form, you would think it would be a simple task to learn its history; however it seems the history is steeped in conflicting versions and there are questions as to the validity of some renditions. The early history of Hapkido is said to be not just difficult, but almost impossible to substantiate the accuracy of the information available. There are many websites and books, however, where you can learn different versions of the history of Hapkido and then draw your own conclusions.
