Step 1
Look online. Visit the Skydiving Meetup Groups Sitemap. The name says it all. There you can search for a skydiving group, start a group, get notified of new groups being formed and join the general message board. Another good online source for skysurfing clubs is Drop Zone, which hosts an active forum, while also presenting scads of information. Also check out Freefall University, which maintains a busy chat room for members.
-
Step 2
Connect through skydiving schools. To find clubs of skysurfers, ask around where the sport is being taught. To start, look for jump schools listed online by the U.S. Parachute Association, Drop Zone and Freefall University. Also check with small airports around your area, which may have connections to local skydiving schools. Your area phone book should have listings of schools near you.
-
Step 3
Check with folks who are doing it. Get friendly with people learning skysurfing at the same time as you or who show up for diving excursions. They might be club members, themselves, or know of groups to check out. And there's always the possibility of forming a new group of your own by gathering enough interested people.
-
Step 4
Ask air sports outfitters. Lots of times equipment sellers are familiar enough with their clientele to know where and with whom they jump. Plus, people with enough knowledge to sell you the right skysurfing gear are likely to be athletes who may belong to a club. In addition, sports equipment stores will usually allow organized groups to post announcements and contact information. Look around while you're there checking out a board.

Step 5
Look into the larger skydiving groups for sub-groups of skysurfers. The USPA keeps an online database of its member organizations in the U.S. and other countries. Another source is Air Sports Net, which offers numerous links to skydiving organizations across the world. In addition, the local phone book may have some listings. Look under "Skydiving" or "Parachuting."
